About

I'm a Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice at Towson University. In general, my research has dealt with globalization and information society in the United States and South Korea, but I have lots of projects underway right now that I make steady (if fitful) progress on:

1) Gregory Bateson's subversive pedagogies.
2) Representations of the future (and future reunification) in Korea.
3) Tracing networks of information technologies in Seoul.
4) Using ethnographic methods to stimulate social change.
5) Tracking sites of emergent self-organization in information and communication technologies (ICTs).
